We have had the honor to serve this community since October 2011. We have encapsulated over 650 placentas, and counting, and enjoy getting to know our clients and their vision for postpartum. The reason we require a prenatal meeting with our clients is to get to know what their postpartum goals are and to ensure they understand their role in the safety of our placenta services. We want our clients to have proper placenta handling education before their birth. Our time together gives us the opportunity to review safe placenta handling, records of your blood work, timeline of events, and our liability form. This also gives us time to answer questions, and share any resources of other services in the community surrounding labor, birth, and postpartum if needed.
We know well from our years of Birth Doula work that you cannot plan birth and due dates are an estimation. To provide the safest service possible, we are on-call for you and offer pickups 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure properly controlled handling. We know the importance of keeping your placenta viable for encapsulation.
We work hard to pick up the placenta within 2 hours of your birth and verify that the placenta was placed in a food-safe container. Zip-lock bags are food safe material meant for food from creation to your hands. The hospital does not provide food safe containers.
